Magazine Cover Techniques Draft

I have analysed a NME magazine cover with my favorite band, The Arctic Monkeys on the front cover, i have used this one  because personally  i believe that it includes lots of techniques and the editor has been very clever in they way he has laid it out.

Magazine Analysis 3

This magazine is very different to the other 2 i have analysed as is has gone for a different genre to indie and its rap. Firstly this magazine cover is based on Kendrick Lamar, As you can see he is wearing a crown which portrays that he is not only on the same level as royalty which you can also can tell from his ring but it fits with his nickname 'King Kendrick' This magazine cover is pretty basic  with a simplistic background but the title which is wrote in graffiti style in big green making it stand out. Lastly in the bottom left corner it says 'Kendrick Lamar, Compton's Crown Jewel' This is not only a play on words due to the crown on his head but also an alliteration making it stand out and making me want to buy it.

Magazine Analysis 2

This is a magazine cover for the magazine 'Q' it shows one of the most iconic singer of our generation  in a very simplistic manner . It is a medium close up of his face, the author has choose this shot to show his facial expressions and try to portray to the reader his emotions and feelings. Secondly, I think he is wearing sunglasses to intrigue the audience and mask his identity which is quite ironic giving the headline 'Micheal Jackson Unmasked' They have decided to but the headline in big bold white lettering to contrast his dark clothing and make it eye catching and grabs the readers attention.Lastly he has got a slight smirk on his face making you want to read on, I believe this simplistic manner is very clever and makes me want to buy it

Magazine Cover Analysis 1

My first magazine cover is from NME its features one of my favorite bands 'Slaves' on the front cover, I think that this is a good magazine cover as the yellow behind the band has a certain warmth about it and catches peoples eye easily. Secondly, by the actually band looking directly in the camera it gives a very directly feeling and makes it personal and immediately engages you. Penultimatly, The text 'Slaves' is in red with contrasts the other colours making it stand out much more. I think this is good as it tells you about the content straight away. Lastly, The band are leaning forward making it look like they are popping out, this drags you in and stands out from the other magazines making you want to purchase it.

Questionnaire Percentages

I have uploaded the cropping exercise I did today to demonstrate ICT skills and using a magazine masthead. This will be useful for my preliminary task.
